OptSuite builds on top of an Open Source cross platform camera API JLibDC1394 that enables the usage of (all) digital camera devices compliant to the IEEE 1394 standard. At this moment, OptSuite was tested with the folloging camera models:
OptSuite provides access to GPIB devices by utilizing a Java-wraper for the National Instruments libraries that ship with their PCI GPIB controllers, so currently the GPIB functionality of OptSuite is limited to the usage of these controller cards. This however does not not imply a limitation on the devices you might control using this interface.
Currently OptSuite provides one extension to its stage-control-framework that works with PCI-controller-cards from OWIS. Most likely this an be used with all models of OWIS stages, however currently it was only tested with 2 of their models.
Piezo transducers are used by OptSuite-PSI to shift the reference phase. A board-layout to control transducers with the PC’s USB port was developed for this purpose and is presented in more detail here
